The Northern Stars Chorus is a contemporary a cappella men’s chorus serving singers in the Ottawa and Gatineau regions and beyond.

If you are interested in singing great sounding music, a variety of interesting songs, and having an entertaining and enjoyable time, the Northern Stars Chorus could be for you. Drop in, hear our music, and sing with us. We have guest song books available for you to use and you’ll be singing along side someone of your voice part. Best of all, you don’t need to now how to read music.  There’s no commitment.  Sing with us for four weeks if you’d like, before you make a decision.

We sing four part a cappella (without instrumental accompaniment) music. Our music is in the barbershop style and can be from the 1930s up to recent times with modern arrangements of more current songs.

We know that people sing at various times in their day or week.  It could be alone at home, in the car, to their children, on a walk, or elsewhere.  When asked most people say ‘No, I don’t sing‘ or ‘I can’t carry a tune‘.  We know that many people are actually good singers and missing out on a great deal of fun and benefits of singing.  They sing much better than they give themselves credit.  Our question is “Where do you do your singing?“.  If you’d simply like to sing more often, you should be singing with us.

Join us any Tuesday. Our doors are always open to singers and interested potential singers. You don’t need to be able to read music – to just enjoy a love of singing. While you probably say “I can’t sing” or “I can’t hold a tune”, many people who say this.
